This is Video taken on a Road Trip with M-1 Global Crew from Kansas City to the StrikeForce show in St. Louis.
TRANSLATION : First Mirko was asked some intro questions. Like how many mails he gets on Facebook and how many fans he got (apparaently more then 5k). CC said he doesn't own account and the ones that present themselves like Mirko Filipović and put photos of him, are some fake losers. (his words ) He was then asked about training and if we can expect Left HKs against Shaub... He said "yes for sure". He also thinks on the ground he has better ground game desipte Shaub wining some small BJJ tournamens. He was asked about Roy Nelson. Answered that he is heavy hitter and has some serious haymaker power similar to Mighty Mo from K1. He also said that he is really disapointed about his performance against Frank Mir and that was worst fight of the year (chosed by fans). Atm he trains with Aljin Ahmić (fighter i watched live at 25.12.2010) and that he will probably train with him after his carrier end. He also said he wouldn't want to train any newcomers because investing 5 years of his life so that kid decides after to go for hokey or smth. isn't accaptable. About Dana White. He said he is great buisnismen, but the things he said about Fedor arent justified and that no1 should say anything against Fedor. He understand buisnis aspect of UFC, that DW has to be at every weight ins and that he is face of the company but that doesn't give him rights to dissrespect adn discredit about Fedor (in his opinion best fighter ever). About Overeem. He said he would love to train with him. The rumors that he was asked to come train in Golden Glory waren't true. If he would train with the Reem it would be overeem coming to his place to train together. "It would benefit both of us", he said. He will finish his carrier in UFC as HW. Speculations that he should drop to LHW... He said he would drop but would have to cut his leg first. (sarcasticly) He hopes he gets fights or 2 and that if he wins both get hets shot at the title. - Regarding Goran Reljic the Cop thinks Goran hasnt got anything special, no knockout punch, no good ground game, just an average fighter, so Mirko is not surprised that Reljic was cut by the UFC. - Asked about if Cain Velasquez could stand up with him, Mirko answers that in a kickboxing match Cain would probably have no chance, but he likes Cains attitude towards fighting. He is young and hungry etc.. just like the Cop was few years ago - In my opinion a very important thing i have noticed during the whole interview was Mirko telling a dozen times that he has not got the drive anymore like when he was 25 years, so he basically admits that he is not the same. He names various reasons like that he now has two children, a family to care about and many injuries during the past. - But he promises that he will go out and fight Schaub and try to finish. Mirko was very upset and dissapointed that his fight with Frank Mir was called the most boring one last year. His strategy was to wait for Mir to attack, because he had some injuries carriing in the fight, but Frank refused to fight - Finnaly he actuall said straight ahead that if he wins his next two fights he will keep on fighting and still has the desire to take a shot at the title, but if he losses he will quit for sure - Another thing i have noticed is that he refused to answer some questions and/or answered them with some kind of animosity. He sounded like in old PRIDE days when he was respectfull but at the same time told his opinion directly in plain language. Some how cocky but in a proper ways full of confidence. My conclusion is i expect Mirko to go out and fight this time for his reputation and show the world he has some power left in him. I am very confident because Shaub is lunching straight and moving forward the whole time so Mirko could probably keep the distance and land a few good old kicks and finally go for the kill with his straight left.
