What's the easy way to hit a second serve in tennis? It's to break the second serve into steps and practice each one a time. In this video, I dispel the mysteries of the tennis second serve and show you what's really happening and why you lack spin. I then show you how to correct those issues and the right way to practice. How to hit a second serve in tennis? Well, if we are right-handed, we start with the tennis racquet on the left side of our body and move it in a clockwise position from left to right. The key is to keep our torso facing the right for as long as possible before opening up. The other key is to wait a little longer on the toss to hit the ball. In other words, we don't want to hit the ball at the apex, as that will not allow us to get the spin we want on the ball. And lastly we need to pronate correctly so that the butt cap of the racquet ends up towards the sky with the palm facing to the right and the, thumb down. If we can do all of those things correctly we have a shot at getting some topspin on our tennis second serve. Some people refer to this as the kick serve. Oh, and we need to have a good racquet drop as well, so we can come up on the ball. It's all in the tennis second serve video, so check it out. And please subscribe and share if you found this video helpful. Thanks for watching. Hey guys, here´s a kick serve progression, that almost always works.
I´ve learned it many years ago from the legendary coach Dennis van der Meer, just added some little things. So try it out and perhaps your students can learn a "real" kicker. If you want more information about the "RoPe Tennis Education" project, just send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Many happy returns ;) Cheers guys
