Alex Ovechkin's First 61 Playoff Goals

Every Alex Ovechkin playoff goal leading up to his first Stanley Cup. Since entering the league in 2005-06, Ovechkin ranks 3rd in playoff goals. He trails Evgeni Malkin by 1 and Sidney Crosby by 5 despite having played at least 37 fewer games than each player. Among players who have played at least 50 playoff games in that time, he ranks first in goals per game and is the only player averaging at least 0.50 goals per game (Nikita Kucherov is second at 0.47). Even though he has played more than 14 playoff games in a postseason just once, he has scored 5 goals in a playoff season more times than anybody else. Last of all, and what I think might be his most impressive stat, is he has never gone a single playoff series without recording a goal, and of his 19 series he only had one where he did not score at least two. - 2008 - 1 (1) - April 11, 2008 Game 1 vs. Philadelphia Flyers - 0:00 2 (2) - April 21, 2008 Game 6 vs. Philadelphia Flyers - 0:37 3 (3) - April 21, 2008 Game 6 vs. Philadelphia Flyers - 1:00 4 (4) - April 22, 2008 Game 7 vs. Philadelphia Flyers - 1:44 - 2009 - 5 (1) - April 22, 2009 Game 4 vs. New York Rangers - 2:48 6 (2) - April 24, 2009 Game 5 vs. New York Rangers - 3:18* 7 (3) - April 26, 2009 Game 6 vs. New York Rangers - 4:16 8 (4) - May 2, 2009 Game 1 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 5:05 9 (5) - May 4, 2009 Game 2 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 5:53 10 (6) - May 4, 2009 Game 2 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 6:50 11 (7) - May 4, 2009 Game 2 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 7:51 - First playoff hat trick 12 (8) - May 6, 2009 Game 3 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 9:40 13 (9) - May 9, 2009 Game 5 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 10:39 14 (10) - May 9, 2009 Game 5 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 11:35 15 (11) - May 13, 2009 Game 7 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 12:26 - 2010 - 16 (1) - April 17, 2010 Game 2 vs. Montreal Canadiens - 13:06 17 (2) - April 19, 2010 Game 3 vs. Montreal Canadiens - 14:04 18 (3) - April 21, 2010 Game 4 vs. Montreal Canadiens - 15:00 19 (4) - April 21, 2010 Game 4 vs. Montreal Canadiens - 15:43 20 (5) - April 23, 2010 Game 5 vs. Montreal Canadiens - 16:29 - 2011 - 21 (1) - April 13, 2011 Game 1 vs. New York Rangers - 17:37 22 (2) - April 17, 2011 Game 3 vs. New York Rangers - 18:23 23 (3) - April 23, 2011 Game 5 vs. New York Rangers - 19:03* 24 (4) - May 1, 2011 Game 2 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning - 20:03 25 (5) - May 3, 2011 Game 3 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning - 20:36 - 2012 - 26 (1) - April 16, 2012 Game 3 vs. Boston Bruins - 21:17 27 (2) - April 22, 2012 Game 6 vs. Boston Bruins - 22:31 28 (3) - April 30, 2012 Game 2 vs. New York Rangers - 23:33 29 (4) - May 5, 2012 Game 4 vs. New York Rangers - 24:36 30 (5) - May 9, 2012 Game 6 vs. New York Rangers - 25:48 - 2013 - 31 (1) - May 2, 2013 Game 1 vs. New York Rangers - 26:43 - Passes Peter Bondra for Capitals all time franchise lead in playoff goals - 2015 - 32 (1) - April 17, 2015 Game 2 vs. New York Islanders - 27:56 33 (2) - April 21, 2015 Game 4 vs. New York Islanders - 28:49 34 (3) - April 30, 2015 Game 1 vs. New York Rangers - 29:41 35 (4) - May 2, 2015 Game 2 vs. New York Rangers - 30:22* 36 (5) - May 13, 2015 Game 7 vs. New York Rangers - 31:02 - 2016 - 37 (1) - April 16, 2016 Game 2 vs. Philadelphia Flyers - 31:55 38 (2) - April 18, 2016 Game 3 vs. Philadelphia Flyers - 32:53 39 (3) - April 18, 2016 Game 3 vs. Philadelphia Flyers - 33:36 40 (4) - May 2, 2016 Game 3 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 34:33 41 (5) - May 7, 2016 Game 5 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 35:19 - 2017 - 42 (1) - April 15, 2017 Game 2 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs - 36:23 43 (2) - April 17, 2017 Game 3 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs - 37:17 44 (3) - April 19, 2017 Game 4 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs - 38:05 45 (4) - April 27, 2017 Game 1 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 39:02 46 (5) - May 6, 2017 Game 5 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 40:02 - 2018 - 47 (1) - April 15, 2018 Game 2 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets - 41:00 48 (2) - April 15, 2018 Game 2 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets - 41:53 49 (3) - April 19, 2018 Game 4 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets - 42:45 50 (4) - April 23, 2018 Game 6 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets - 43:44 51 (5) - April 23, 2018 Game 6 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets - 44:41 52 (6) - April 26, 2018 Game 1 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 45:27 - 100th career playoff point 53 (7) - April 29, 2018 Game 2 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 46:14 54 (8) - May 1, 2018 Game 3 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins - 46:59* 55 (9) - May 11, 2018 Game 1 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning - 48:10 56 (10) - May 13, 2018 Game 2 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning - 48:53 57 (11) - May 19, 2018 Game 5 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning - 49:55 58 (12) - May 23, 2018 Game 7 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning - 50:39 59 (13) - May 30, 2018 Game 2 vs. Vegas Golden Knights - 51:41 60 (14) - June 2, 2018 Game 3 vs. Vegas Golden Knights - 52:25 61 (15) - June 7, 2018 Game 5 vs. Vegas Golden Knights - 53:32 - Passes John Druce (1990) for franchise record for goals in a single playoffs * - highlight reel goal All clips belong to the NHL.
