BEHIND-THE-SCENES: Ever since we started dating, Trevor has been slowly teaching me about hockey so he wanted to test my knowledge. I still don't know enough! I'm sorry to all the hockey lovers. I'm sure this is painful for you to watch me try to answer these questions. Putting on the gear was challenging but getting hit with pucks was exciting! -- Thank you for watching! Warrior Ritual X Pro Goalie Knee Guards // On-Ice Review

Shop for goalie equipment Subscribe to TotalGoalieTV Like us on Facebook Follow us on Twitter Hey goalies I'm Mike, Goalie Specialist here at Total Goalie, I'm with Kirk Allen who's the Goalie Equipment Specialist for Warrior Goalie, and we've also got Joey O'Brien here he plays for the Odessa Jackalopes of the North American League and in this video we're going to go over the brand new Ritual X Pro knee guards. Alright so Kirk this is a true pro knee guard that you guys have developed that's pretty much the same basic design as the G2 knee guards that come with the G2 pads but so much beefier. What we did that made is beefier is we obviously added more protection in the front of the knee and we've also made it a lot wider. So for the goalies that like to Jiggy fly and who like to actually block shots with their knees on purpose this is the knee guard for them. Kirk, one of the things that I like about it is actually the extensions that you put below the knee because it does a great job not only of protecting that part of your leg but it really helps keep the knee guard in place. The anchor strap is one of the most important parts of the knee guard, as you can see here we have a really thick landing area so for a goalie who skates 4 or 5 times a week they're not going to have any issues with their knees towards the end of the season. And then we've also added this extra piece of protection here that gives the goalie extra coverage when they do go into the butterfly and maybe rotate their knee a little bit more. Again the design is segmented here so, it's almost like the two can move independently and that's another feature that allows them to kind of stay where you strap them. Absolutely, when you're down in the butterfly you want the shin area to be able to rotate and flex while still maintaining the full coverage area of the top of your knee. So we've had Joe go down into the Jiggy fly as you were talking about earlier, and I think this really gives you a sense of how wide the knee guards are and how much protection they offer here too. You not only want to have great protection here but you also want to have maximum coverage so that nothing can sneak through. Yeah that's awesome, and then you're holding one and a new feature you guys have added is you've actually put a leather tab at the top and though you can't see it here there's also a leather tab that's underneath the pant so if you do want the two to integrate and you want to lace them together, you can. You can integrate any of our Ritual X knee guards with any of our ritual x pants, that's something we saw was not only a need at the higher levels but also at the very low levels as well. Alright Joe, so we gave you these Ritual X Pro knee guards a couple of weeks ago, had you test them out for a while, what are your thoughts? Well you know over the course of a season I mean just the wear and tear on the knees and the first thing I noticed was how comfortable it is when you drop down in them, I mean I could definitely see these holding up for not only one year but probably 2 or 3 which is very rare when you get to the higher levels. The other thing I noticed is that I had to wear a garter belt to keep my old knee pads up and with these, they just stay in place with the new strapping system they have they stay in place they don't move in the course of a game or a practice and when you're on the ice for 2 or 3 hours that can make a big difference. Cool I'm glad you liked them, so that's the Warrior X Pro Knee Guard, you can check them out at or at any of our local Total Hockey stores and thanks for watching.
